Ayurveda Summit Brings Ancient Wisdom To Modern Conversation

Ayurveda summit

The wisdom of the ancients is increasingly being validated by science. Are we on the brink of a new age of enlightened mind-body-soul medicine?

Ayurveda (the science, or knowledge, of life) is the oldest wellness system in the world, a sister-science of Yoga.  It has now gained tremendous interest in the modern world as it provides practical, insightful techniques to navigate the health challenges of today.

Ayurveda was thousands of years ahead of modern science in recognizing the unique nature of an individual and the central role of the gut in overall wellness, now elucidated by the fields of genetics, genomics, gut microbiomics, and precision medicine. While Western medicine has struggled to improve the epidemic of chronic disease, Ayurveda is thriving due to its individualized, holistic, practical approach.

Every person is a combination of three constitutional types, distilled from the five elements which make up all living and non-living things. Vata is ether and air, the principle of movement. Pitta is fire and water, the principle of transformation. Kapha is water and earth, the principle of structure and stability. A person is born with a unique ratio of these three constitutions, known as doshas. This makes their Prakruti, or primordial nature.

"Then... life happens," says Eric Grasser, MD, co-host of the Ayurveda Summit, a FREE online event from November 9-16, and one of the world's foremost experts on the integration of Ayurveda and Functional Medicine. Life events, traumas, relationships, diet, lifestyle, travel, illnesses, weather, and more, cause disturbance in the balance of the doshas, putting the person in an imbalanced state, known as the Vikruti.

Ayurveda provides the tools to return your individual balance. It is personalized medicine. "Getting back in touch with the laws of nature," says Dr. Grasser. The diet, daily routine, application of oils to the body, meditation, cleansing practices, and use of highly effective herbal remedies are all explained by Ayurveda. Detoxification, cleansing, and rejuvenation were first described by Ayurveda in detail, paving the way for the popularity of the detoxes and cleanses of today.

"From self-care to kitchen tips, yoga and meditation secrets, and herbal tips and tricks, the Ayurveda Summit could wonderfully change your life," says Cate Stillman, co-host of the Summit and author of Body Thrive: Uplevel Your Body and Your Life with 10 Habits from Ayurveda and Yoga, from Yogahealer Press.

Ayurveda taught us to use turmeric, ginger, cardamom, triphala, nervine tonics like brahmi, adaptogens like ashwagandha, and even aphrodisiacs like mucuna. The Ayurveda Summit will teach listeners to use these herbs as well as improve self-care, get sleep and bodily rhythms back on track, boost self-confidence, lower stress & anxiety, navigate relationships with ease, dramatically slow the aging process, and even grow your Ayurveda & Yoga business.

Twenty-eight world experts in Ayurveda and Yoga from North America, Europe, India, Russia, and Australia will be speaking on this free event, co-hosted by Grasser and Stillman. This will be the biggest online Ayurveda event ever produced, reaching tens of thousands of listeners. You can register to save your free spot here.
